It being the holidays and having finished most my work and commissions, I decided that it's apt time to give my site a far overdue overhaul.

I was always disappointed I couldn’t share with you a few of the images I had done commercially. However, thanks to a stipulation in my contracts that allow me to regain publishing rights to commissioned images after a few years, a couple of new images (well...new to many of you) are now available in my gallery. NEWS_TEXT = "I've been lurking deviantART for some time now, enjoying the works of others. I haven't posted any art before now because I wanted to put something up that's different from what is on my artsite, something that follows different styles and rules...true to the meaning of deviations.
When I first started to draw, I posted pieces I did as practice at a different forum, and learned from other's critiques. I developed a style that I became well known for, and did professionally for many years (book covers and illustrations, as well as works for magazines and other media). Those works I've showcased on this site (at least those I was able to show legally). Recently, I've been experimenting with different styles to develop me into a better artist. I decided to use deviantART (instead of my site) to showcase those works, just as I did in the beginning to hopefully to learn now from you as I had before with others.

Also, I want to add for those emailing me to ask for permission or just to say hi, I apologize if I've missed your letters. My email box has been full of spam and mailing list posts so it's quite easy to miss a letter or two (or even three) here and there. I am trying to think of a way around this, any suggestions? Again, I'm very sorry for this, and please don't think I'm ignoring you.
Another thing is, people have been asking me for a banner. I don't require them for links to my site, but some of you do want them for your sites. So I buckled down and created this one:

As for this site, new posts will be disabled during the move to make it easier to...well...move things. Other than the links being updated, as well as adding the new e-mail address " + return_link("request mail") + " for link requests and use permissions and the e-mail address " + return_link("e-mail") + " to contact me personally to...well...chew the fat...or just about anything else, there is not much new at the moment, and posting comments are still disabled as I'm still trying to work out how to get the Perl scripts for the site running...ugh!
As for what is to come, first off there will be a dramatic increase in the download size of the images as I've got much more room for storage here than at the old site. In addition, this site will be made mobile compliable so y'all will be able to view and post on this site from your cells! I'm also adding a line art section to my gallery, more artwork, as well as tutorials. So stay tuned!";

NEWS_TEXT = "I'll admit I was slightly irked moving this site from AOL's servers as I would no longer had use of the scripts in their cgi-bin, however unlike AOL this new host allowed me to write and run my own. Seeing this as an opportunity instead of disadvantage, I set out to add features I've always wanted but was restricted from adding. Yes folks, all these new CGI Perl scripts as is all the scripts (HTML and JavaScript) on this site were personally written by me! I am a programmer after all (check my " + return_link("FAQ") + ").
The most visible addition (at least to y'all) is the enhanced comments boards, which now supports editing and deleting your posts that you made, and all the cool UBB codes you'd find on most message boards…including smilies! 
Unlike the other message boards with these features, my comments boards still won't require any of the name, email, and web page fields so you may post anonymously like you've had always been able to do, and still won't require any registration to post! It does, however, require cookies to be turned on to make use of much of the features (like editing and deleting comments you made within 24 hours of posting it), and I added the slight security measure of a captcha codes to discourage bots from making use of the new features and ruining the fun for everyone (especially myself). So, try it out and post away, as always I really look forward to hearing from all of you!
Also, don't forget the previous addition of the new e-mail address " + return_link("request mail") + " for those of you wishing me to add a link to your own art pages and for those seeking permission to use my art for use for their own creations, plus there is my new personal e-mail address of " + return_link("e-mail") + " for pretty much anything else you want to talk about including any issues or bugs you may find in the new features (I really did my best to make them as solid as possible, but you know how these things creep up). As for what is to come…well, many many wonderful things of course!
